Flying is one of the two main mechanics of Journey.
Flying becomes possible once the Wayfarer receives their Scarf. Flying requires the scarf to have a charge, and uses up whatever charge is left in the scarf. When the scarf is empty, the Wayfarer will be unable to fly. Longer scarves allow for longer flying.
There are a number of ways to recharge the scarf, if needed, including contact from cloth creatures, the Chirp of another player, and Goo. A White Cloak will also recharge their scarf while touching the ground.
There is no way to just jump - one will fly instead of jumping.

The camera angle will also affect flight, even allowing players to dive down and then rise up from their momentum. This is important for advanced flying tricks.
Usage[edit | edit source]
Standard flight is often used to get to areas that would otherwise be hard to reach. It's also just plain faster than walking.
