Frequency[edit | edit source]
Fish are the most common creature found in Journey, even if you only count fish schools, and not individual fish.
Appearance[edit | edit source]
They are almost-flat, almost-square pieces of cloth, with a fold toward the 'head' that they fly in the direction of. From a side-view, they may appear to have a larger head than body. They are always found in groups, sometimes called "schools," "swarms" or "flocks."
Behavior[edit | edit source]
Fish are the only cloth creature (not counting Ribbons) that are not known to have a visible - or even audible - utterance.
Some flyers need to be freed. A free school of flyers will fly around in a circle. If a player with a non-full scarf comes near them, the fish will fly up to the player, recharging a small bit of their scarf energy, so long as that player is on the ground. A fish will need a short time to recharge before it can give the player some energy.
Sometimes flyers will combine to create a ribbon.
Interaction[edit | edit source]
If they are touched by a player's chirp, they will glow, and fly around the player, both giving that player a height boost, and recharging that player's scarf.
